Hopefully by the time you read this post, I will be well on my way, journeying to the far-off mystical land called “Florida.” Posts this week are going to be a bit different–more “doing” and less “thinking” of thoughts–since I’m road tripping 2,700 miles across the good ol’ US of A. Am I crazy? Possibly. Don’t ask my dad. He’s trying really hard not to have a heart attack, thinking about all the various scenarios where things go wrong.
It’s just me and the dog, two girls hitting the open road, seeing the sights, having adventures, wind in our hair(/fur). (Except that that wind may be about 20-30 degrees, depending on our stop, which is TOO COLD for this native Floridian who now lives in sunny SoCal. Ugh. On the bright side, the pooch will probably think it’s awesome!)
Clothes packed? Check.
Snacks packed? Check.
Dog toys/food/bedding? Check. Check. Check.
Filled car tires to proper pressure? Check.
New windshield wipers? Check.
Route researched? Check.
Christmas presents wrapped? Check.
Library books returned? Check.
Even more snacks packed? Check. (How can you have too many snacks??)
Plants watered? Check.
House cleaned? Umm, mostly. Check-ish.
Okay, I think we’re ready! Stay tuned for more posts this week updating you on our adventures. (Hopefully I’ll have something more interesting to write than, “Day 1: Drove through desert. Day 2: Drove through more desert. It’s desert-y.”)
And we’re off! Now, if Akela could only figure out this steering wheel thingy…
